June 23, 2010: Turin, Italy; and Alexandria, VA – Palm, Inc. has acquired a patent license entitling it to sell products using the patented MPEG Audio technology licensed by SISVEL S.p.A and its U.S. subsidiary, Audio MPEG, Inc. In light of the license agreement, the parties agreed to dismiss all litigations between them.

“With the decision by Palm to take this patent license, Sisvel and Audio MPEG have licensed the overwhelming majority of the mobile and smartphone sector further confirming the industry’s appreciation of the research and development behind MPEG Audio technology covered by the patent portfolio.” said General Richard Neal, USMC (Ret), President of Audio MPEG.
